La Casa Rosa - Number 10

Large bedroom with a double bed and an individual bed and a dining table with four chairs.

As with all of Casa de la Rosa, the ceilings are high and made with wooden planks in the traditional Morelia style. Both casas are filled with artwork made by local artisans.

Shelves covered with Frida Kahlo memorabilia and humorous pottery.

From the indoor courtyard looking into the bedroom. The bathroom is the door on the left. It features a very small stand-up shower.

The indoor courtyard with ornately carved bench.

The kitchen. The refrigerator is on the left. The sink and stove with oven are on the right.

From the kitchen looking through the casa into the bedroom.

La Casa Rosa - Number 9

A rose to welcome you to La Casa de la Rosa, a quiet sanctuary just two blocks south of the cathedral in downtown Morelia.

Our camelinas garden in the outdoor courtyard. There are two chairs in the courtyard, so bring a cup of coffee from the French press, some pan from the panaderia up the street and enjoy the nice weather.

Your master double bed with an ornate carved wood headboard, "Frida" lamp and pillows embroidered with dance scenes by indigenous Purepecha women.

Your guest bedroom with double bed/couch and upper individual bunk.

Just outside the bedrooms is a desk. Both suites have access to our free wireless Internet, so bring your laptop and surf the web.

The kitchen has a small refrigerator, stove and oven as well as all the cookware you need to make a gourmet meal.

Casa for Monthly Rentals

Picture yourself here... a plate of takeout corundas on the table in front of you. This large traditional house features three bedrooms (two twin beds, one double and another twin), large living room, indoor courtyard, office, large kitchen, separate dining room, large bathroom with shower, outdoor patio with service area and washing machine. Tastefully decorated with lots of wood furniture made by artists from Michoacan and many "cantera" stone walls in the traditional Morelia style.

The living room is spacious with plenty of seating for guests.

"Frida" entertainment center and bench in living room.

Traditional Michoacan pottery just inside the front door, looking into the indoor courtyard.

Plants in the indoor courtyard. The courtyard lets in a lot of natural light during the day and is covered, so it won't let in the rain.

Bedroom in the back of the house.

Bedroom in the middle of the house.

Bedroom in the front of the house with windows to Plan de Ayala. Shutters can be closed to shut out the light and noise from the street.

Office off the living room.

Sink and stove in the kitchen. The stove has an oven (not all kitchens in Mexico have ovens).

The kitchen is complete with pots, pans, plates, glasses, utensils. You bring the food!

The back hallway looking through the courtyard, to the front of the house and into the living room.
